Swoop To Offer Flights Between San Diego And Canada


SAN DIEGO – Low-cost airline Swoop announced Wednesday that it will expand non-stop service to San Diego from two Canadian airports in October.
As part of its winter schedule, Swoop will offer non-stop flights from both Abbotsford, British Columbia, and Edmonton, Alberta, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.San Diego is one of two new flight destinations in the company's winter schedule, the other being Los Cabos, Mexico.
"The closest airport to downtown by far, Swoop passengers will be quickly on their way to the numerous San Diego attractions including beaches, nightlife, spas, parks and museums," said San Diego International Airport President and CEO Kim Becker. "It will also encourage San Diegans to visit the amazing cities of Edmonton and Abbotsford that bookend the beautiful Canadian Rockies."
WestJet launched Swoop in 2018 as a low-cost airline option with flights to cities in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. In the U.S., Swoop also offers flights to Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Florida cities of Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale.
One-way flights between San Diego and either Abbotsford or Edmonton will start at roughly $120, with service beginning Oct. 4. Travelers can book flights between the three cities through April 25, 2020, at flyswoop.com.

"With some of the best beaches in California and plenty of attractions, San Diego is another example of how Swoop is bringing desirable locations at an affordable price within reach of Canadians."
